FALL OF THE SACRED MINDS
“Fall of the Sacred Minds” is a really special song to me. It was originally written about two years ago—around the same time Alive came to life. I wanted to create something deeply atmospheric and dark, but still with a massive punch behind it. So I wrote the instrumental… but after a few listens, I wasn’t fully convinced. It didn’t feel like it reached the level of our other tracks, so we shelved it for a while—probably close to a year.
Then during a random recording session, we revisited it, and for some reason it just clicked this time. It hit way harder than before. We decided to rework it, and after a few sessions, the song transformed into something absolutely insane—so much more intense and exciting than the original.
Then came the lyrics. I knew I wanted something metaphorical, something people could truly relate to. I chose to focus on mental health—the whole “voices in my head” idea, those darker thoughts that surface when you’re at your lowest. I wanted to paint that experience with a horror-movie vibe. The concept that fit best was a SAW-like scenario: a killer and a trapped protagonist.
In this story, the protagonist is the human brain, the cage represents the head, and the killer symbolizes intrusive, self-destructive thoughts. The lyrics put you inside that perspective—what it feels like to be trapped, to struggle with your own mind, and to question yourself. Even though the imagery is more extreme and horror-driven, the underlying emotions are very real for anyone who’s dealt with mental health battles.
That’s the story behind Fall of the Sacred Minds. “
